preview slide for the Kingdom Hearts fanfic Present Tense ~lex-n-karu.
concept: mimic the KH2 titling and coloring. i realize the second I in the roman numeral should actually be flipped; i think i'd meant to do that originally and then ended up forgetting. i may leave it as-is. technical details: bg: bottomed with flat white. next is a bunch of overlapped periwinkle spatter swirls (Splatter Swirls by ~LeeDeeYa) with a solid cyan Outer Glow at 100% Multiply with a Softer 8% spread to 38px on an unaliased 100% range with no jitter. above that is the lovely heart-shaped swirl in white, Screened. title: because i wanted to mimic the title as closely as possible, i knew i wouldn't be able to accomplish the black matting with a Stroke or Outer Glow effect -- instead, i selected the text, grew it by a few pixels, and filled in the holes before i filled the selection entirely with black. this layer has an Outer Glow in solid periwinkle at 100% Normal with a Softer 3% spread to 51px. the text itself was done in the font Kingdom Hearts by Eliot Truelove at a base size of 72px with -50 horizontal spacing to condense the text. the lowercase letters were set to 90% height with a 2px baseline shift. the H is set to 76px at 130% width. the K is 72px with 130% width. the caps in the story title have not had their width changed and are 72px. the layer effects applied were a grey-to-white Gradient Overlay, a 1px Smooth Upward Inner Bevel on 100% depth at 90degrees, and an Outer Glow at 76% solid white with a Softer 7% spread to 1px on an unaliased 68% range with no jitter (this ends up more delicate than a Stroke effect). |
